Social entrepreneurship has proven beyond doubt that is it the catalyst for a realistic and an all-inclusive approach to the realization of true global development.

Taking a critical look at the advances that Ghana, a middle income country in sub-Saharan Africa is making, there is a sense of hope springing up that will prove beyond doubt that when given the opportunity, Ghana can empower her people to make life better for themselves and the countries of the world. It is in this light that Ghana Institute of Social Entrepreneurship, GISE, has been established to provide a space where this vision can be made a reality.

Skoll Foundation defines a social entrepreneur as “society’s change agent: a pioneer of innovation that benefits humanity.” Wikipedia reads, “A social entrepreneur is someone who recognizes a social problem and uses entrepreneurial principles to organize, create, and manage a venture to make social change. Putting these two concepts together, GISE defines a social entrepreneur as any person that develops, nurture and implement an idea that is need-base-solution-oriented, in making life better.

Vision

To help catalyze an all-inclusive social impact development approaches to the development of Ghana through the revolution of social enterprises.

Mission

Serve as hub that provides a space for learning and exploring of social enterprise models, nurturing of social enterprise ideas, and networking among social entrepreneurs in Ghana whilst implementing social enterprise interventions that promote social impact.

Rational

Ghana, a nation with a promising future, has over the years seen a growing number of organizations, government agencies, schools and individuals working round the clock to ensure that leadership delivers her best in ensuring that she uses her country’s wealth to make life better for her people. We have also seen several of these interventions died down with time all because they were not sustainable.

Ghana is gradually making strive and we deem it fit to create a space that provides a home for ideas aim at making life better in Ghana. Social entrepreneurship has gained root in many countries and has been testified as a new form of business that not only make returns for itself but truly empowers for social impact.

We have recognize the fact that we would be strong a country if we truly empower and encourage Ghanaians into this all-inclusive development mechanism that catalyze need-base-solution-oriented development.
